Come one, come all! I’ll be joining my special lady counterparts for a funky dance, song & spoken word performance at this event!

Tales of a Dollhouse Roadshow features an ensemble of women using dance, song and spoken word to tell powerful and relevant stories. Each piece shares narrative stories of a group of multi-generational women from diverse cultural backgrounds. The performances excavate the origins ofeco-feminism and explore the balance between grace, sensuality and fierceness.

Tales of A Dollhouse Roadshow is a socio-spiritual workshop and performance tour. In an elegant cabaret-carnivalesque package, Tales of ADollhouse introduces socio-spiritual material with a transpersonal approach to performance art. It is a narrative biography with experiential audience participation and a performance art installment component.

As the artistic director, parts of these performance art installments are a reflection of my own evolutionary work. It is also a collection of creative and transformational inquiry processes done in collaboration with each performance ensemble. This inquiry work focuses on what it means to be awoman in relationship to culture, sexual orientation, ancestry and identity. At this critical moment in our world’s evolutionary story, Tales of ADollhouse offers insight into the pursuit of justice and emotional reconciliation in a post-modern world.

It celebrates the unification of our powerful legacies in solidarity for our future generations, while delivering a poignant message that dismantles separation and ignites hope. Under the artistic direction of Gitana Martinez, Part II honors the individual wisdom teachings of our unique lineage and brings together the sublime and transformational art of a league of extraordinary women.

This year I have taken an oath to the Cult of the Guilt Free Goddess. This practitioner is currently engaged in a meditation of active compassion, self acceptance, tenderness and grace. Through this practice it is my intent to usher in an era of abundance, reverence, creativity, passionate ferocity and inner peace for myself and others.

Here are 5 great reasons why giving up guilt this year is soooo worth it.

Without all that emotional baggage you’ll feel 20 lbs lighter!
Your interactions with people can finally be pure; Based on who you both are in that present moment, not who you were in your past.
You get to experience constant reward instead of constant self-punishment!
The way you communicate becomes more refined and non-violent.
Your skin will glow. Your frown and furrow lines will ease away! (And if somehow they don’t you’ll at least be on a path of radical beauty and self-acceptance.)

How to BE guilt free:

Learn self acceptance through awareness – put a cap on self judgement as well as the judgement of others.
Ask yourself “what am I making this mean?” whenever you find yourself in a troubling situation. As “meaning making machines” we place importance on our perception of reality, not on the boundlessness of what reality actually is.
Honor your soul! Instead of giving yourself a treat after you have climbed the highest mountain, motivate yourself by gifting you and those around you whilst climbing it. It will give you more energy, inspiration and motivation to go on!
Instead of wallowing in the why’s, figure out what gives you peace and latch on to that.
Own up to your humanness, we all make mistakes, we all stumble. Does this make you inadequate? Broken? Unworthy? OF COURSE NOT! One of the reasons I’m so attracted to body modification is because it proves to me over and over again that there is pain, and there is blood, and there are tears, and there is being broken, and through it I am complete for being able to experience such a full gamut of these things.
BE HERE NOW! — By being present you eliminate hindsight’s capability of magnifying or diminishing an experience.
Be committed to ending your suffering. Creating a healthy daily practice will set a pathway of non-attachment, not disassociation before you.
Choose to forgive.
Try something new! Ah, the old switcheroo…for every thing you feel wrong about, give yourself the opportunity to repeat the action from the opposite perspective. Consider every opportunity to act a lesson to learn from.
Reconnect with your spirit and find your inner balance. Some folks use the healing properties of stones, religious iconography, chanting, and even spinning! While your culture may suggest some helpful ways for you to reconnect, sometimes it is as simple as just sitting with yourself and taking a few really deep breaths.

NOW GET OUT THERE AND BASK IN THE SUNSHINE, DANCE IN THE RAIN!

Amphigory Amplified

I am in love with pitter and patter, in love with the sense of dancing Seussical rhythmic signatures and Shakespearian allure. I have recently considered in new light some passions I own. And, as if by dream’s reward, I awoke this morning to a feeling of union. Perhaps this flu contamination has provided some insight. Laying in bed coughing my innards out has forced my brain to sit with itself, stumbling upon what just may be my next creative experiment. Now comes the indiscriminate mashup of the amphigory, the glossolalia, the moon, the dusk, the lust, the fire, the glam, the pause and the discontentment…With wings, now comes new art! Perhaps this will fall into the “Panic Theatre” diaspora…I am intrigued.

And so…a celebratory few words with cheers to inspiration!

I have somehow happened across one of the most sincere people on the planet. This holistic nutrition coach, motivator, freedom fighter and extasis enabler is my new inky pinky. RAW CHEF STEPH loves you, and you better believe it! CHEF STEPH holds a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Chico, in Health Science and Health Education. She also holds a Holistic Nutrition Consultant Certification from Bauman College. This “conscious eat-a-tarian” stands as a pillar of support within our Central Coast family, sharing her individualized recipes for successful spirit and body transformation. I am so glad to have met her. She is one vibrant lady – and trust, this rubs off on you after even a single interaction. Here’s what she’s got to say:

“Walking Around”

It so happens I am sick of being a man.
And it happens that I walk into tailorshops and movie
houses
dried up, waterproof, like a swan made of felt
steering my way in a water of wombs and ashes.

The smell of barbershops makes me break into hoarse
sobs.
The only thing I want is to lie still like stones or wool.
The only thing I want is to see no more stores, no gardens,
no more goods, no spectacles, no elevators.

It so happens that I am sick of my feet and my nails
and my hair and my shadow.
It so happens I am sick of being a man.

Still it would be marvelous
to terrify a law clerk with a cut lily,
or kill a nun with a blow on the ear.
It would be great
to go through the streets with a green knife
letting out yells until I died of the cold.

I don’t want to go on being a root in the dark,
insecure, stretched out, shivering with sleep,
going on down, into the moist guts of the earth,
taking in and thinking, eating every day.

I don’t want so much misery.
I don’t want to go on as a root and a tomb,
alone under the ground, a warehouse with corpses,
half frozen, dying of grief.

That’s why Monday, when it sees me coming
with my convict face, blazes up like gasoline,
and it howls on its way like a wounded wheel,

And it pushes me into certain corners, into some moist
houses,

and there are false teeth forgotten in a coffeepot,
there are mirrors
that ought to have wept from shame and terror,
there are umbrellas everywhere, and venoms, and umbilical
cords.

I stroll along serenely, with my eyes, my shoes,
my rage, forgetting everything,
I walk by, going through office buildings and orthopedic
shops,
and courtyards with washing hanging from the line:
underwear, towels and shirts from which slow
dirty tears are falling.
